Moulin Roty is a village in France, and the Moulin Roty company dates back to 1972 when a group of people moved there to live and work in a commune environment.

They started with a silk sceening workshop and moved on to other crafts, forming a cooperative society in 1979 and moving towards the production of games and toys for children.

There was a fire in 1988 that destroyed the original premises and the community moved the company to Nort-sur-Edre, maintaining the name “Moulin Roty”.

Some of the most beautiful, creative toys we’ve ever seen are made by Moulin Roty – and all of their toys are made with gorgeous materials . They simply inspire your child to play and fill them with wonder!

Moulin Roty have a big range of rag dolls and other handcrafted toys which we will cover in other posts – but today we want to introduce the newest Rag Doll collection – Les Rosalies which literally means “The Roses”.

Les Rosalies Rag Dolls

Les Rosalies are a family of four rag dolls released by Moulin Roty in 2018, that were designed and illustrated by Cécile Blinderman.

They are such gorgeous pieces of art!  The dolls are meant to evoke poetry and charm – a romantic universe for your little girl.

The four sisters range in size from big sister Anemone (57cm or 20in), the twins Violette & Prunelle (43cm or 17in), and little sister Fleur, the smallest of the family (30cm or 12in).

Each of these beautifully made dolls with rosy cheeks are perfect for play or for decorating the nursery too.  Your little girl will be delighted by these lovely sisters to dress, cuddle, be friends with, and form memories with.

These are the kind of dolls that go on adventures, and share everything that is in your little girl’s life – these are the kind of dolls that are dearly loved and kept forever!

  3. Those are works of art! It is so hard to find nice things that are made by hand now-a-days. From time to time I take on a project to hand make something, but it is a lot of work so I usually only make one. And the other great thing about them is they won’t break like the cheaply made items you buy today that are mass produced. Gorgeous dolls. Thanks for sharing this great find!

    • Hi Katie – it takes a lot of effort to make beautiful things by hand, and it’s not a skill I have the patience for! I so appreciate the talent and creativity that goes into handcrafted objects and you know they have been made with love. These dolls are so gorgeous – glad you like them too! Thanks for your comments, Lindsay
